What is Data Transcription?

Transcription is the action of providing a written account of spoken words. In qualitative research, transcription is conducted of individual or group interviews and generally written verbatim (exactly word-to-word).

Any kind of data converting into another mode of communication can be called Data transcription. The process of transcription could be different but the main motive is to transform the content into another format in which client is demanding the data. The accuracy and authenticity of data is very important while performing Audio Transcription services.

It is translation between forms of data, most commonly converted audio recording to text in qualitative research. Transcribing may appear to be a straightforward technical task. Qualitative data collected as audio-visual recordings are ideally transcribed as textual files for archiving and sharing. Consider transcribing conventions, instructions, guidelines and a template to ensure quality and consistency across a data collection.
